The Calcium Chloride we are offering is a firming ingredient used in canned vegetables, in the production of tofu from soybean curds, and in the production of caviar-like products from fruit or vegetable liquids. It is also frequently used as an electrolyte in sports drinks and various other beverages, including bottled water. It acts as an absorbing ingredient in desiccants in foods, and for de-icing or dust control on gravel roads. Our Calcium Chloride is produced as a by-product of the Solvay process from limestone throughout a large portion of the world.
